Ever since I was younger I have always had blonde hair and blue eyes. (Cue photo montage!...)
After having the same hair colour for almost 20 years I decided it was finally time for a change! I had wanted to dye my hair for a long time but could never decide on the colour I wanted and to be honest I was terrified I would end up messing it up and I would end up with some crazy coloured hair but I decided that it was now or never.
I spent hours upon hours researching different ways of dying your hair and different techniques people found worked for them. It was during this research that I found out the risks of dying your hair because of the chemical involved, I'd be lying if I said this didn't worry me! However I knew that dying my hair was definitely something I wanted to do so despite my worries I decided to go ahead. The most important piece of advice I can give to someone who is thinking of dying their hair at home instead of having it done professionally is to read the instructions that come with the dye carefully and ALWAYS carry out a skin test for 48 hours before dying your hair. This is so important and should be done even if you've used the colour before as ingredients in the product may have been changed since you last dyed your hair. I did use 2 different colours to get the final colour this was because after the first colour I decided that I still wanted to go darker and colour was similar to my natural hair colour. I have included photos below that show the final result from both hair colours.

As previously mentioned in my pumpkin carving post every year for the past 3 or 4 years we have spent October half term (usually the week before Halloween) on holiday in a caravan or lodge somewhere surrounded by countryside.
This year was no different as we decided to spend a week in a lodge in Cheddar which is a small village in Somerset. It is well known as the origin of Cheddar Cheese. (more information about Cheddar can be found here).
We stayed in a lodge at The Cheddar Woods Resort & Spa and after a long 2 1/2 hour drive the first thing we did upon arriving was take a tour to test out all of the different appliances explore the place that would be our home for the next week. After a few hours it was clear that we had settled in!
Below is an itinerary of each day and the different places we visited throughout the week.
Itinerary
Sunday
Sunday was spent exploring the local area and making an all important food shop!
Monday
Monday was spent visting Western Super-mare, were we spent ALOT of money shopping...oops. (If you can't splurge on holiday when can you?!) We then each decided to pay £1 and explore the pier we sat outside in the wind and enjoyed fish & chips and a hot drink whilst hiding from seagulls flying close by. Obviously a visit to the pier is not complete without doughnuts and funfair style attractions. (Yes I am talking about those trick mirrors that make you look 10ft tall and in crazy proportion!.. oh and ghost trains with terrifying employees!)
Tuesday
Visit to the town of Wells. We started the day by visting Wells Cathedral however sadly due to copyright issues I am unable to post any photos, sad I know.. We then moved on to 'Bishops' Palace'.
Wednesday
Visit to the 'quirky' town of Glastonbury. (Anyone who has ever been there will know what I mean). To start the day we made a visit to Glastonbury Abbey which was basically a massive garden with remains where an Abbey used to stand.
Thursday
We mostly spent Thursday chilling in the lodge however we decided to go into town to do some souvenir shopping and visit the cheddar making factory. As we were there fairly late the workers had finished making cheese for the day and had started to clean up however the tour was still interesting and we had the opportunity to watch a short video which showed the whole process. We ended the day by buying chocolate fudge cookie ice cream shakes from a shop called 'Ice Dreams'. (pictured below) They tasted AMAZING however I am not exagerating when I say they were FREEZING! This meant that it was very entertaining to watch both me and my sister carry them back to the car.
Friday
As Friday was the last day of the holiday we decided to spend the day just chilling at the lodge. Today was the day we finally decided to carve the pumpkin (We decided to name him Fred.. I honestly don't remember why though.

Recently I've seen alot of these types of post so as a fan of all things Autumn I thought I would be fun to do one myself.. so here is the Sweater Weather TAG!
Favorite candle scent?
Anyone who knows me will know that I am constantly burning candles, and am a massive fan of collecting different candle scents, this made it hard to chose just one scent. My all time favourite Autumn scent would have to be Pan Au Raisin by Yankee Candle, however recently I've also been loving the Tequila Sunrise candle from Desire Candles.
Coffee, tea, or hot chocolate?
No matter what time of year I will always be drinking tea or coffee, however for me the ultimate Autumn/Winter drink is definitely hot chocolate.
What's the best fall memory you have?
I have one of the worst memories possible so I don't have many fall memories however I do remember one bonfire night where we didn't realise how cold it would be so we ended up wearing hoodies that were far too big for us and eating BBQ food whilst watching the fireworks in fairly strong wind.
Which makeup trend do you prefer: dark lips or winged eyeliner?
100% Winged Eyeliner! I'm not brave enough to try out darker lips
Best fragrance for fall?
I only really tend to wear one fragrance all year round and my current favourite is Dolce by D&G
What is autumn weather like where you live?
Around September it is generally warmer and still relatively like Summer but as we get into October and November the temperature changes and it starts to become colder, especially in the mornings and wetter during the day (good old English weather..)
Most worn sweater?
At the moment, my most worn sweater is a white sweater with a detailed neckline from DP
Must-have nail polish for fall?
I'm loving nude colors for my nails at the moment and my current favourite is Mocha Tini by Seventeen and I will normally wear this with a gold/sparkly nail polish such as Hot Toddy also by Seventeen as an accent
Football games or jumping in leaf piles?
Definitely jumping in leaf piles!
Skinny jeans or leggings?
I'm sure most people would probably say they preferred leggings to skinny jeans as they are more comfortable however I am one of those people who no matter what the weather is I will always be wearing skinny jeans
Combat boots or Uggs?
Always combat boots as the extra waterproof-ness is definitely needed here in the UK
Is pumpkin spice worth the hype?
Sorry to disappoint but I've honestly never had a pumpkin spice latte...
Favorite fall TV Show?
I don't have a specific favourite fall TV show however I am LOVING watching House at the moment
Favourite songs this season?
At the moment I'm really loving Adele's new song Hello! (Who Isnt?!) and also Poison & Wine by The Civil Wars

As I'm sure you'll know this past weekend was Halloween! For anyone who is unaware of what Halloween is, Halloween is traditionally celebrated on the night of 31st October each year and involves people dressing up in often frightening and entertaining costumes.
Most years we are away for Halloween this means that we never normally get the chance to celebrate properly, however this year we would be travelling home in time for Halloween so we decided we wanted to try carving a pumpkin.
The first part was choosing the pumpkin, we chose a fairly small pumpkin from a farm shop close to where we were staying mainly because we knew that somehow we would have to bring the pumpkin home when we left.
After taking some time deciding which knife would be best to use for the carving we finally decided on a small carving knife (had we been at home we may have spent money on fancy carving tools but since we were on holiday we made do with what we had). If you have ever tried to carve a pumpkin you will know how hard it is! Especially if nobody in your family has ever carved a pumpkin before!
Once we had carved a hole in the top the next job was scooping out all the seeds... this was hard!
We then decided to take a short break to decide on the design for the pumpkin, this meant scrolling through images on Instagram and Pinterest and choosing ones which we thought we would be able to recreate after finding some AMAZING designs we found a design of a cat which was simple but still effective. It was at this point I felt it would be best for someone else to actually carve the design. This very important job was given to my very artistic sister who in my opinion managed to recreate the design very well... she's my sister so I guess i'm biased but feel free to check out the photos below and make your own opinion.
How did you celebrate? Did you carve your own pumpkin? Did you dress up? Or did you decide to spend the night in with a good movie hiding from anyone who came 'trick or treating'?
