CHRISTMAS COUNTDOWN - 19 DAYS!!

Anyone who knows me will know that one of the things I love doing the most is my nails! So for this post I have decided show you 2 of my favourite nail art designs for the winter/Christmas season and how to recreate the finished look for yourself.
Most of the designs I'm going to show you were found on Pinterest (100% the best place to go to if you need inspiration!) so without further ado lets start!

Santa Themed

This is probably my favourite design and I've had this on my nails for the past week or so . Anyone who follows me on Snapchat will probably have seen this design

The first thing you need to do is using a red nail polish paint half moons onto each of your nails (as if you were doing a French manicure) It doesn't matter how your nails look after this as you can always go back over them after the 2nd step.

The next step is to add a row of white dots at the base of the red polish (like in the second photo) this will create the fur rim for the hat! You don't need to have any special nail tools for this, you can simply use anything that has a slightly rounded bottom, the end of a hair grip will work perfectly! At this point you can go back over the red if you feel like you need to.

If you want to keep your nails like this then that's perfectly okay however if you want to finish the design the next step is to paint a red triangle shape on the side of your nail over the top of the white this will form the part of the hat which flops down.

The last step is to add the white bobble onto the bottom of the hat . If you wanted to you could also add a gem or a dab of glitter nail polish to make it stand out

Candy Cane

I love this design and it is definitely one of the most simple but effective Christmas designs.

The first step is to paint all of your nails red apart from one on each hand, you then need to paint the other nail white. This creates the base for the candy cane and I find its easier to put the red over the top rather than the other way round.

The next step is to then paint on 3 or 4 red lines, these could be either thick or thin depending on how you want your nails to look. I personally find that using sellotape or nail strips makes it easier as you can use them like a stencil.

This next step is completely optional and it basically involves painting one nail on each hand a different colour, whether this be white or gold,I feel this makes the design more interesting and Christmassy however it's completely up to you and how you want your nails to look.

The final step is to paint a top coat over the top of all of your nails to ensure the design stays for the longest possible.

Red: Barry M Gelly Hi Shine: Sparkling Ruby

White: Avon Gel Finish: Iceberg White

Gold: Orly (Not sure the name)

Top Coat: Maybelline Super Stay 7 Days: Crystal Clear

CHRISTMAS COUNTDOWN - 20 DAYS!!

As I get older I find that it gets harder to decide what I would like for Christmas, one reason for this being that if I need anything I am generally able to buy it for myself and therefore don't really need others to buy it for me. This can get incredibly frustrating for other people especially as my birthday is a week before Christmas and therefore people require lists from me.

This year is no different in that it is currently December 5th (13 days until my 20th and 20 days until Christmas) and I still haven't really got much of an idea what it is I'd actually like. As someone who isn't a massive fan of surprises this post is quite likely one of the most important posts I will do.

As I'm sure alot of people do the first thing I did when searching for inspiration was head straight to the internet, I find that websites such as Amazon are amazing as not only are they a massive library of pretty much everything you could ever want they also have the option of creating a wish list which makes buying for somebody else so much easier as you are able to buy the exact gift they would like.

The Mentalist DVD Season 5 (around £12)
The first item on my list is The Mentalist DVD Season 5. Anyone who knows me will probably know I was obsessed with this show when it was on and I still am if I'm honest. I will admit to having most of the DVDs however for some reason I don't seem to own Season 5

Mugs (various prices)

The next item on my list is a mug! You can never have too many mugs.. and besides.. how cute is this one!

Wax Tarts (around £1.50)

Of course this wouldn't be my Christmas wishlist without candles! I am one of those people who if they could would probably have a candle in every scent (I mean maybe not the ones that don't smell great). At the moment I am really loving the wax tarts from Yankee Candle as they fill the whole room with the scent when they're burnt.

Tea Lights

The penultimate item on my Christmas list is tea lights! Wax burners are amazing! however.. burning a wax tart burns up ALOT of tealights

Nail Polish (£3 - £7 Depending on which brand)

The final item in my Christmas wishlist is nail polish! I'm one of those people who you could buy nail polish for and I would honestly love you forever! I've always loved doing my nails and am always on the look out for new colours to try out.

CHRISTMAS COUNTDOWN - 22 DAYS!!

I always find that watching Christmas movies really gets you into the Christmas spirit so for that reason I've decided to share with you my top 5 favourite Christmas movies that you should check out this season!

Home Alone 1&2

I watched this film for the first time a few years ago and fell in love immediately! It's one of those films that you can sit down and watch as a family and everyone can enjoy. It's a film which shows the importance of family at Christmas whilst also adding some comedic value with the help of two house robbers played by Joe Pesci & Daniel Stern.

The Holiday (2006)

The Holiday is one of my all time favourite Christmas movies and I have memories of starting Christmas day by watching this film! If you chose to watch this film I will recommend tissues as it is a real tear jerker.

The Polar Express

The Polar Express is an animated film where children are picked up from their houses on Christmas eve and are taken on a magical journey to the North Pole via the Polar Express. The film takes you on a journey as the children learn the importance of friendship and the true spirit of Christmas! It's a film that can not only be enjoyed by younger children but adults as well.

Love Actually (2003)

Love Actually follows the lives of different couples throughout the festive season, Staring actors such as Bill Nighy, Colin Firth & Liam Neeson. I had to add this film to my Christmas favourites as I feel like it's one of those classics that everybody loves to watch around this time of year.

A Christmas Carol (1999)

Finally, you can't have a Christmas film list without including A Christmas Carol. Set in London the film is an adaptation of the book written by Charles Dickens. The story follows a man named Scrooge (played by Patrick Stewart) who is visited by 3 spirits in order to help him to change his ways.
