Last October after wanting to dye my hair for years (and I really do mean years!) I finally decided to buy some dye and dye my hair. If your interested you can read about my experience with dying my hair here.
Ever since dying my hair I've had to change quite alot of products I use on my hair in order to ensure my hair remains in the best condition possible.
Before dying my hair I would use a range of different shampoos and conditioners and would be constantly changing the products I used, however since dying my hair I've found 2 different shampoos which are not only amazing for your hair but they are also great for keeping the colour looking fresher for longer. I usually find myself alternating between the LOréal Paris Elvive Colour Protect Caring shampoo and the Herbal Essences Ignite my Colour shampoo.

During a normal week I will wash my hair 2-3 times maximum however I will often use dry shampoo if I feel the need to. Also I always try to let my hair air dry if I have the time although this can take a while when you have long hair!
Since dying my hair I've been using conditioner ALOT more than I used to and have also been trying to leave my hair longer in between washes as this helps to preserve the colour for longer.
Every 3-4 weeks I will touch up my roots using The LOréal Excellence hair colourant in the shade #4 Natural Dark Brown. Whilst touching up my roots I also use some of the colourant on the rest of my hair just to freshen up the colour and make sure it looks as natural as possible.
And that's basically everything I do to keep my hair at it's best (well... somewhere close..)

I haven't posted in so long! (over a month!) and I'm not really happy about that fact tbh! But over the last month I have been SO busy with work it has basically taken over my life! However, now that the summer holiday period is pretty much over (sad times I know!) I have a more workable schedule which gives me alot more time to plan and write blog posts.
So for the first post since last month, As I've done every month this year I'm going to share with you my music favourites from this month!

Although I've had this blog 2 years (tomorrow to the date!) It's been just over a year since I properly started this whole blogging adventure!
I thought what better way to celebrate that year than by sharing a collection of Summer throwback photos from over the years! This is also a throwback to one of the first posts I wrote nearly 2 years ago! You can check that out here.
I have also included a couple of my favourite blog posts from over the past year if you want to have a browse.
What's your favourite Summer memory from over the years?
Hope you enjoy this little collection of cute/embarrassing photos and here's to the next year!

As you will probably notice from this months playlist, I've been loving all things Country this month! I've always loved country music, I find it more relaxing than listening to any music in the charts! Don't get me wrong I love current music aswell but I feel it's good to listen to a combination of styles instead of just the one.

After many months of starting themes and hating them about a month after and then constantly being jealous of how AMAZING other peoples themes seemed to look I've finally found a theme I love and that's not too hard to keep up with! (cause that's definitely an important factor)
So in this post I want to share with you how I edit my instagram photos so they fit with the new theme.
As with many people the App I use to edit any photo is VSCOCam, this app provides a wide range of customisations for free as well as a few paid filter customisations and is completely free to download.
After I've chosen the photo I want to post, I open up the image in VSCO and choose a filter, for the theme I'm currently using I use the A6 filter. Depending on the original colour of the photo I will adjust the slider accordingly, most photos I will use A6+12
The next step is to lower the exposure(usually around -1 or -2) as my theme is slightly cool toned this helps to darken the photo
I then adjust the contrast to around -3, this helps to give the photo a faded cool look
I then like to add some colour back into the photo buy increasing the saturation to +1
The final step is to make the photo look more faded by increasing the amount of fade to +6
Here you can see the before and after of the photo. Once I'm happy with the photo I will save it to my camera roll and upload it to my backup instagram which only I currently follow, yes this can be very time consuming but it allows me to see all of my instagram photos together as Instagram normally shows them without having to upload and reupload photos constantly which can be very annoying.
How easy was that? I've found that this theme can be applied to a wide range of photos unlike my previous theme which although looked good was virtually impossible to recreate any time I wanted to upload a photo!
I hope you enjoyed this post! You can follow my Instagram here to see more photos

In this post I wanted to share with you my current nail care routine! For as long as I can remember I have always loved spending time on doing my nails to the point where a few years ago I hated not having anything on them (that's probably really bad i know..)
The first thing I will always do is use a nail file and nail cutters or scissors to make sure my nails are all even length this not only makes them look better but also helps with growth aswell.
The next thing I do is use a buffing block to increase the shine of my nails and to remove any ridges this helps to make any nail polish look better once its been applied.
The next step is one of the most important steps and one that should be included in any nail care routine to use a cuticle cream or oil to massage your cuticles, this step stimulates blood circulation therefore helping with nail growth. I'm currently using the Boots Nail and Cuticle Oil which comes in a small bottle with a rollerball which makes application very easy.
Once I have fully massaged my cuticles I will apply either a regular base coat or a nail growth treatment such as the Sally Hansen Miracle Nail Growth treatment. I've found that not only does this help with the growth of my nails but it also helps to make them stronger and less prone to breaking.
Finally after everything has been done in order to help make my nails the best they can be I get to paint them, this is by far the part I enjoy most!
The nail polish I'm currently wearing is the Maybelline Superstay nail polish in the colour 'Porcelain'.
In order to keep my hands and nails moisturized throughout the day I carry around a hand cream in my bag everyday (as you can see here)
Hope you enjoyed this post!
What colour are your nails right now?
